Earth Day Lunch and Learn with Freshwater Land Trust

Monday, April 22nd, 11:30aM

This Earth Day, Monday, April 22nd at 11:30 am, join Freshwater Land Trust and Leadership Birmingham for a one-hour onsite lunch and learn to get a behind-the-scenes look at the planned Civil Rights Trail in downtown Birmingham. Freshwater Land Trust and key project partners will meet at City Walk BHAM for a catered lunch to discuss the recently awarded $21 million U.S. Department of Transportation RAISE grant that will build recreational trails along 16th Street North and reconnect the historic Smithfield community to downtown. Project partners will also talk about planned redevelopments around the Birmingham Civil Rights National Monument and take participants on a guided walk along 16th to highlight significant project components. After lunch, join us for an optional and relaxed 1.5 mile (round trip) guided walk to discuss project components where participants can join for as long as their schedule permits!

Boxed lunches from Eugene’s Hot Chicken will be available but you must register by April 17th in order to receive a lunch. If you register after the 17th, you are welcome to bring your own lunch and we will have drinks available for anyone.
